The Wait share one thought: we humans are always waiting for something. What we desire is hard to put into words: vague images, yet full of meaning, because they are far away. As we wait, we try to give them the shape and substance of our dreams. It is as if we were setting out toward obscure destinations that grow clearer the closer we get. But the path of our desires often ends in an inevitable encounter with the unpredictable.

The Wait captures a pier in the harbor of Hellesylt, Norway, a popular stop on the fjord cruise route.
